“Everything starts from the object and everything returns to it, in the same way that everything starts from seduction and not desire.”

This quote, taken from a book by French thinker Jean Baudrillard, echoes through the philosophy underpinning Hugo Laurencena’s pictorial work, in which essential aesthetic principles converge to produce emotion at first sight.

From an early age, Hugo Laurencena took refuge in blank paper, using line to interpret everything around him. As he grew, he gravitated toward advertising, a field that gave him the chance to observe everyday objects through a deeper lens.
